CompMgmtLauncher.exe – Error – There is no disk in the drive

I had a strange problem on one of the PCs in our warehouse today.  I was trying to get to the Device Manager by right-clicking the Computer icon, and selecting Manage.  Each time I tried, I got this annoying error “CompMgmtLauncher.exe – Error – There is no disk in the drive” that wouldn’t go away until I killed the CompMgmtLauncher.exe process in Task Manager.  I didn’t find any suggestions at all on the Web, but I did find another way to get to the Device Manager.  The other route is right-click the Computer icon, and select Properties.  You can then get the Device Manager from there.  Simple, but I hope this helps someone one day.
